The Mission:
Bring wine back to everyday life.
Tasting notes and data sheets don’t connect people to wine. Stories do. Cellar Door South owner and founder, Kate Knight, brings an immersive wine tasting experience to you, sharing stories that build a connection to the wine. These tastings leave folks feeling more confident and more excited to bring wine back into their everyday life.
The Story:
A Transplant in Nashville.
Kate Knight started her career with a degree in Wine Business from Sonoma State University. She spent three years at Wine.com as part of the merchandising team, eventually managing wine clubs and direct imports. She then moved over to the supplier side of the industry as Brand Marketing Manager at Old Bridge Cellars, a sales, import, and marketing company based in Napa, CA. She studied under the Court of Master Sommeliers and Wine & Spirits Education Trust, passing the WSET Level 3 Award with Merit.
In 2017, Kate and her husband opened a skydiving business (didn’t see that coming, did you?) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Then came the pandemic, and like many people, Kate and family moved to Franklin, Tennessee in 2020. She spent a few years working in hospitality as a Director of Marketing, but couldn’t stay away from the wine world.
Kate founded in Cellar Door South in 2026 to spread her love of wine, storytelling, and human connection to the Nashville area.
